This yummy take on the popular Panda Express Honey Sesame Chicken will become your family's next meal on repeat.
Who doesn't love a good copycat recipe? This better than takeout crispy honey sesame chicken recipe is a must! The fried chicken is amazing but what really makes this dish is the sweet and spicy sauce. It's delicious.
How do you make Crispy Honey Sesame Chicken?
Start by cutting up some chicken tenders, whisking together some milk and an egg in a bowl, and blending some flour and salt in another bowl.

Dredge each piece of chicken in the milk and egg mixture, then toss it into the flour.

Set the floured chicken aside until your are ready for frying. Heat up enough oil to come about halfway up a cast iron skillet. You could also use a heavy bottom dutch oven. Fry each piece of chicken for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. I worked in two batches to make sure the pan didn't get too crowded.

Let the fried chicken cool on a wired wrack and mix together honey, chili garlic sauce, soy sauce and sesame oil for the sauce. Drizzle the sauce over the fried chicken and serve immediately.

You can serve this chicken on it's own or with a side of stir fry vegetables and rice! The honey sesame sauce is delicious over pretty much anything. This recipe makes enough sauce to pour over your stir fry.

Many of you will probably ask if you can bake this honey sesame chicken. Short answer, yes you could but I promise it is worth the extra clean up (and calories) to shallow fry it. It tastes worlds better. If I haven't convinced you, you can preheat your oven to 450 degrees and bake the chicken for 10-15 minutes until cooked through (the internal temperature should be at least 165). But trust me, frying is the way to go.
