Hi, I'm Leanna. Welcome to The Hungry Waitress!
This little corner of the internet has been my home since 2016. It started as a place to save family recipes and new creations. Over the years, it's grown right along with me.
After graduating with a marketing degree in 2011, I found myself waiting tables and falling in love with the restaurant world. I met amazing people (including my husband) and learned so much about food, pace, and people. But after nine years, I was ready for something new. I took a few web design classes, rediscovered my creative spark, and started this blog as a way to combine my love of food, design, and storytelling.
Since then, life's only gotten fuller. I'm now a mom to two toddlers, which means I understand the dinner rush on a whole new level. I still love to cook, but I know how easy it is to get burned out. That's why the recipes here are simple, cozy, and made with real ingredients that don't break the budget. Nothing fancy, nothing fussy, just food that feels good to make and even better to share.
The ingredients might be humble, but they're full of potential. I truly believe you can create something delicious out of what you already have.
I'm still learning every day, trying new techniques, and figuring out what works in a real, busy kitchen. I love sharing what I've learned along the way and hearing how these recipes find a place in your home too.
Thanks for being here. I hope this space brings you a little inspiration, a few new favorite meals, and a reminder that dinner doesn't have to be complicated to be good.
