Thanksgiving is tomorrow! Yay! If you’re scrambling around for a last minute pecan pie recipe, this is it! I got this recipe from Elaine Helms on Allrecipes.com. This is not my recipe, but it’s amazing. Everybody requests this pie from me for Thanksgiving. Here it is! (Now you can make it yourself! Haha!)
I obviuosly bought a frozen pie crust for this pie. Frankly I don’t have time to make my own around this time of year. I also candied my pecans before adding them to the pie. Oh man! They are sooo good.
I took 4 Tablespoons of butter and melted it over medium high heat. Then I added 2 cups of pecans, and I toasted them. Add 4 Tablespoons of brown sugar to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes. Stir constantly. Then place the candied pecans on a tray to cool before chopping.
They are so beautiful!
Then mix together the pie filling…
Dump the pie filling in a frozen pie shell.
Then bake! Now the trick is to start baking the pie at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. This will guarantee you won’t burn the pie! I use to burn all my pecan pies.
