My name is Leanna and I have worked as a server for almost 9 years! Where does the time go? I have a passion for cooking and sharing food. Cooking (and wine) helps me decompress after a long day at work. It is my escape. I started this blog because I noticed how many families eat out at restaurants every single night! That’s crazy expensive and not so healthy…
My goal is to help families, couples and singles to find comfort in knowing how to prepare wholesome meals at home. I want to provide you the knowledge you need to be successful in making homecooked meals!
Did you know that you don’t have to cook EVERY night but can still have delicious meals ready to eat? I want to share some of my tips and tricks on fast, easy dinners because, lets face it….we are all tired by the end of the day.
I’m also a big fan of cooking for others! On the weekends I love to cook up a big meal and party with my friends and family! I’ve included some of my favorite meals.
Why did I start cooking?
I grew up with a mom who loved food and cooking. I was spoiled and ate a home cooked meal every night. So, when I moved out of the house, I craved home cooking. I had to learn how to cook and boy, did I fall in love with it! I read tons of recipes; I was obsessed with food magazines; and I started collecting cookbooks. Cooking gradually became easier as I learned, and I was addicted to it.
On A More Personal Note
I am a Nashville native (as they call us). I have grown up in this beautiful city, and now I get to watch it grow and change! The great thing about Nashville is the people. I have friends from all over the country and everyone is soooo nice.
Not only am I a native, so is my boyfriend, Nolan. We have been together 6 YEARS! WHAT!? He is my best friend and supports me in whatever I do. We live in a tiny 600 square foot apartment with two animals and we haven’t killed each other…yet!
Speaking of the animals, we have a dog, Riley and a cat, Kitty (aka Pumpkin). Riley is a Puggle. I found him at the Humane Society when he was a puppy. He was so cute but a horrible monster. Thank goodness he has mellowed out with age. He has the most peculiar personality. He has the stubbornness of a beagle and the clingyness of a pug. We are pretty sure he understands English…
I found Kitty in the parking lot at work on Halloween night a few years ago. He was a starved little guy and he had a snaggled canine tooth. He is an orange tabby and he is looking more and more like a pumpkin (which is what I named him but he only responds to “Kitty”). We call him Plumkin, Butters, Garfield, Twinkle toes…the list goes on. We have been regulating his food and he is not happy about it.
Well that’s a little bit about me! I hope you find some inspiration to start cooking!
